Every time I go I have a great meal Lunches are quick and fresh, dinners are delicious and Saturday brunch is exceptional-real holandaise. The meals are fresh and inexpensive and nothing is deep fried. The service is friendly, most servers are no professional waiters but nice young adults who aim to please. The cafe is beautiful and homey.

I've been to this restaurant dozens of times over the years and it has provided unfailing tasty and nutritious meals, and very good quality and quantity for the money. I particularly like that it does not serve french fries or anything deep fried. The specials are always changing, but the sandwiches on homemade bread, the fruity desserts and the salads are exceptional, especially the potato salad. The atmosphere is homey and there is a nice mix of people. The service is a little erratic however.

I took my mother out to the Upper Crust for a treat as we had previously had very good service and food was good. This time we Ordered Quiche, mine was 1/2 cold 1/2 hot. I waited for the server but she never came, I went to find her and was told that Quiche should be served at room Temp. Well that is BS. She took back my order and was to replace with anothr, waited 1/2 hour and it never came. I asked for the bill and went to pay. I asked to speak to the Manager who only told me that the Quiche was fine and I was wrong, and so apology for the poor service. The waitress never once came back to see if we want our coffee warmed up, or more water or anything. Basically I was brushed off. I will never go back and will for sure never recommend this place again. In fact we cater from work a lot and I have used them previously and will never do so again. To be brushed off was the absolute worst in my opinion

Breakfast is my favourite meal of the day. It's also my favourite meal to eat out in a restuarant. I'd been wanting to try this place for a long time, especially since it's only a short walk from my apartment.I finally went to the Saturday brunch, which runs till 12:30pm every Saturday. The outside of this cafe is very cute and inviting, and the inside was a surprise. I expected it to be tiny! It's a large, spacious room with high ceilings. It had a great vibe. All the table tops were oddly shaped, which was certainly different! The service was friendly and fast. I ordered an organge juice (2$) and the Eggs Benedict (of course). (7.75$) 2 poached eggs on your choice of English muffin, croissant, or bagel; with back bacon & Hollandaise Sauce; hashbrowns & fresh fruit garnish.Eggs Benedict is my most favourite breakfast meal that there is. I'm making it a point to try every Eggs Benedict in Edmonton. Maybe I'll write a book...This Eggs Benedict was mostly typical... Except for the Hollandaise sauce - which was DIVINE!!! It was completely buttery, melted in my mouth, and was a dream. The fruit garnish was also nice, as it included peices of pineapple, watermelon and cantelope.Upon leaving, we took a look at all the baking available for purchase at the front. We found some popcorn cake with almonds and walnuts that looked delicious, so we bought some. (1$) It didn't seem quite fresh enough, but was very tasty none the less.We also noted that we enjoy restaurants that offer the PERCENTAGE tip function on their debit. This way, you can just type in the percentage (10%, 15%) that you want to tip, and you know that you are tipping the exact correct amount. I usually find that it charges me LESS then what I would have put down had I been guessing!
