5 pm on a Saturday my female work colleague wanted to try it out, her used to genuine European bistro`s. Immediately upon arriving the short dark haired older waiter stared at me intensely and from then on rudely ignored me and addressed only my companion. This happened when I went to their old location on Rice Howard Way with an actor friend of mine for desert. We were one of 3 couples there and the same rude waiter (owner?) would address my male companion only and ignore me. I found the behavior ignorant considering it is a service profession. Five years later and again the same rude treatment. Food was good and efficiently served, but not worth the insulting treatment. I'll make sure to tell those I know in the media about wtf? regarding that little man's attitude that soured the experience for me permanently.

I went to this European Restaurant with a friend of mine, the decor was very beautiful with a European flare.. The chicken was delicious and the strudel very decadent however the service did not impress... For a restaurant that is trying to portray European cuisine and decor they should try portray European style service. The waiter literally did not speak to my friend whom was a male, and it is to my understanding that according to etiquette the male should be addressed especially in a formal or even semi formal dining atmosphere...

To put it succinctly, the food at Bistro Praha is simple and delicious. They advertise themselves as a "Gourmet Cafe" and I would say this description is pretty accurate.

On my latest visit, I had the Weiner Schnitzel "Cordon Bleu", breaded schnitzel with ham and Edam chese, served with a side of delicious potato salad. The schnitzel was fantastic, the breading was light and crunchy and the Edam cheese really complemented the veal. Bistro Praha offers an assortment of schnitzel and if you are a schnitzel fan definitely check Bistro Praha out.

The starter open-faced sandwiches are very tasty and come with a variety of toppings (barbecued ham, Hungarian salami and crab salad for example) and for less than $3 you can't go wrong. As well, they have a limited selection of European import beer. I went with a Baron, a dark lager beer and I'll definitely be looking for it at my local liquor store.

While the service is sometimes a bit sub-standard and unpolished, I've never had any real problems. We did make a reservation for a Friday night, and upon arriving they didn't seem too concerned about it and told us to sit wherever we wanted. Oh well, the restaurant wasn't too full at that point, I can deal with that.

For to the point, European fare, Bistro Praha certainly delivers.
