Add new review Naan for all, Saturday, 15 March 2008 Written by Kevin - View all my reviews When you first walk in you are greeted with a raised bar area in the center of the restaurant with one of those back lit bars that seem to be all the rage nowadays. The (new) New Asian Village is decorated with dark woods with a bit of silver accents throughout; it really does look sharp. Fabrics adorn the walls and in a few areas they separate booths from the main dining room to create a bit of a private setting. If I was going to pretend to know anything about interior design I would describe it as a modern Indian feel. This being my first time at the New Asian Village the waitress recommended the buffet ($20), which is available 7 days a week. The selection is quite varied and in my opinion, worth the $20 for the quality of the food. My plate found itself piled high with lamb curry, butter chicken, veggie vindaloo, saffron rice and fish pakora. The spread also included a cold salad selection as well as many curries and Indian sauces of which I cannot begin to remember. Earlier in the day I had expressed my love of naan bread and I was very pleased to find an Indian chap manning the tandoori oven whipping out fresh naan as fast as customers could take them away. They were extremely delicious and a must for soaking up all the delicious sauce that invariably gets left behind. This being the first week or two of the (new) New Asian Village being open, service was pretty inconsistent. Our drinks weren't refilled the whole time and we barely saw our server the whole visit. If we hadn't opted for the buffet I think dinner might have taken quite a while longer. This is understandable as the kinks obviously haven't been worked out yet but it's still not that hard to come by every 15 minutes or so. If you have a craving for Indian food on the North End of the city you can't go wrong with this location of the (new) New Asian Village. Additional Information Parking:
