Add new review Finally got the chance to try this famous eatery, Friday, 11 September 2009 Written by FoodVacuum 4.5/5 for Chicken For Lunch, Monday, 06 July 2009 Written by Erika Open for lunch ONLY, the only trouble with this place is their location and their hours. This isn't a problem whatsoever if you work downtown... But if you don't, brace yourself for what will be a challenge to try their food. Located in the food court of Scotia Place, if you don't work downtown, parking is going to be tough. And with hours of 7am-2pm weekdays ONLY, you can't just go for dinner or on the weekend. It's a fast food place, yes, but a worthwhile one to get to if you can. I first tried to go on Canada Day. I figured, I had the day off, it was a Wednesday, maybe I would get lucky! No such luck. They were closed along with the rest of the silent office tower. I then realized that I was going to have to try to get there, eat, and get back on one of my lunch breaks from work. I managed to pull it off later that week! We got there around 1:30pm, which was nearing closing time, but luckily this also meant that there was a very short line. From what I've heard/seen, the line at peak lunch hours can get VERY long. Sure enough, Amy was there, and she was exactly the same as how you see her on TV. I was surprised to see that they actually offer quite a few different food options, sandwiches included and even a full breakfast in the morning. But I was there to try what everone was talking about. The Chicken Combo. Offered in three different sizes. They feature a different chicken each day, and since I was there on a Friday, it was Korean chicken. Amy asked me if I was okay with spicy, and I told her that I was. We got the Regular Chicken Combo (7.75$) which comes with 2-3 chicken choices. Amy told me that she was going to give me the three kinds, (Ginger chicken, Hot & Dry chicken, and Korean chicken) and I just agreed! Apart from the chicken, the combo also comes with noodles, vegetables, rice and spring rolls. The insane value is obvious. We were sharing, and after a short wait, our food was ready. Amy called, "boyfriend girlfriend!" and handed us our styrofoam container. We found a spot it sit in the food court and opened the container and began to dig in with our chopsticks. I honestly wasn't sure how good it could possibly be... But they sure showed me. It was incredible. I guess I have to follow the crowd and agree that the Hot & Dry chicken (otherwise known as "crack chicken") was the best. Although the Ginger chicken was a very close second. Since we were on a time limit, we piled it all into our mouths, but enjoyed every bite! If you have even the smallest chance to eat here one day, I highly recommend that you go out of your way and try it. I'm already working on my next scheme to end up eating here again...
